Asbestos Cement Pipe Scanner (ACPS)
The Asbestos Cement Pipe Scanner (ACPS) brings SewerVUE’s patented Pipe Penetrating Radar (PPR) technology to small-diameter pipelines. Designed for non-destructive condition assessment, ACPS is ideal for asbestos cement pipes and other non-metallic materials such as PVC, HDPE, and VPC. This innovative system scans inside the pipe wall to measure the thickness, detect voids, cracks, corrosion, and other structural issues, helping asset managers make informed decisions about rehabilitation or replacement.

Key Benefits
Multi-material capability
Scans asbestos cement, PVC, HDPE, and other non-metallic pipes (8”–18” / 200–450 mm).
Non-destructive assessment
Uses PPR to measure the wall thickness and detect internal and external defects without excavation.
Flexible navigation
Can navigate 90° bends and access most existing entry points for easy deployment.
Extended range
Deployment up to 3,380 ft (1,000 m), with options for longer inspections.
Actionable data
Provides precise wall-thickness measurements to guide maintenance and replacement strategies.

Why ACPS Is Essential for Infrastructure Integrity
Pipe Penetrating Radar (PPR) technology allows engineers to see beyond the pipe wall, identifying chemical and physical changes that compromise integrity. By delivering accurate, quantitative data, ACPS helps reduce costs, minimize risk, and extend the life of critical infrastructure. This proactive approach enables asset managers to make informed decisions before failures occur, ensuring safer systems and optimized maintenance budgets. ACPS is a key tool for extending the lifespan of aging pipelines while minimizing disruption.
